Connect Claude to your kitchen
Rinvy can be a connector in Claude. Once connected, you can ask Claude to set up your kitchen from a supplier list or a spreadsheet, log a count or a delivery from a conversation, or explain what your reports show. Claude works as you, with your role, so it can do what you can do and nothing more.
Before you start
- Your kitchen needs the Standard or Pro plan. A kitchen on the Free plan shows on the connect screen but can't be picked.
- The connector is rolling out kitchen by kitchen. If you don't see Connected apps on your Profile or Connect Claude under Integrations, it isn't turned on for your kitchen yet. Ask support to add you.
- You need a Claude plan that supports custom connectors (claude.ai, Claude Desktop) or Claude Code.
- Claude acts with your role. If you are Staff, Claude can count, receive and log waste, but it can't delete products or invite people. If you are a Viewer, Claude can only read.
Connect
Open your Profile and find Connected apps. Press Copy next to the connector URL. Owners and managers also find it under Kitchen Settings → Integrations → Connect Claude.
In Claude, open Settings → Connectors and choose Add custom connector. Paste the URL and save. In Claude Code, run
claude mcp add --transport http rinvy <the URL>instead.Claude opens a Rinvy page. Sign in if asked. The page names the app that is asking and lists your kitchens. Untick any kitchen Claude should not reach, then press Allow.
- You are back in Claude. Try asking it to list your kitchens.
If the page says the link is incomplete, start again from Claude. If it says the app did not register that redirect address, the connector was set up with a different URL; remove it in Claude and add it again.
What Claude can do
Everything goes through the same rules as the app, with your name on every change.
- Set up the kitchen. Create storage areas, suppliers, products (one at a time or hundreds from a list), purchase options, unit conversions, recipes and menu items. Change kitchen settings such as the timezone and operating days.
- Run the day. Start a count and save counts, record a delivery, log waste, log prep, create and approve prep lists, record an order you placed, and leave a shift note.
- Answer questions. Read the order list, current stock, receipts, waste, reports and alerts.
Claude is told to confirm quantities, prices and any delete with you before it acts, and never to invent a count or a cost. It still pays to read back what it did. Every change shows in the activity feed under your name, the same as a change made in the app.
Claude cannot change billing, manage API keys, or reach a kitchen you did not pick when you connected.
Add or remove a kitchen
A connection covers the kitchens you picked when you allowed it. To add a kitchen, remove the connector in Claude and connect again. To take a kitchen out, see Disconnect below.
Disconnect
Open your Profile and find Connected apps.
Find the connection and press Disconnect. Claude loses access to every kitchen on that connection right away.
Owners and managers also see every team member's connection to the kitchen under Kitchen Settings → Integrations. An owner can press Remove there to take this kitchen out of a member's connection. The member's other kitchens are not affected. Removing someone from the kitchen also ends their Claude access to it, because Claude only ever has the access the person has.
Something isn't working
- Claude says it is forbidden. The call needs a role, plan or kitchen your connection does not have. Check your role under Team & roles, the plan under Billing, and which kitchens you picked.
- Claude asks you to sign in again. Connections expire after 90 days without use, and end when you disconnect or an owner removes the kitchen. Connect again.
- The connect screen won't let me pick my kitchen. The kitchen is on the Free plan. Upgrade under Billing.
