Find preps nobody logged
A busy line forgets to log prep. Then a count shows more of the prepped product than Rinvy expected, and less of its ingredients. Your usage and food cost numbers come out wrong for that week. The Missed preps screen finds these gaps in your count history. You check each one and log it in one tap.
What you need
- A recipe whose output is a counted product, for example "Ketchup Prep" makes Ketchup (house).
- Counts of that output product. Counts of its ingredients make the evidence stronger.
A product that Rinvy tracks from sales, or that you track as OK/LOW/OUT, can't take part.
What the screen finds
Rinvy compares each count of a recipe's output with what it expected from the last count plus everything logged since. When the count is higher by at least half a batch and no prep of that recipe was logged between the two counts, it suggests a missed prep. It then checks the recipe's ingredients over the same counts. If an ingredient dropped by about one batch's worth, that backs up the suggestion.
Each suggestion shows the recipe, the number of batches, and what moved between which counts, for example "Tomatoes −6 lb, Ketchup (house) +4 qt between the Tue 9:28 pm and Thu 10:05 pm counts".
A rise that looks like a count error gets no suggestion. Fix the count instead.
The evidence chips
| Chip | What it means |
|---|---|
| Strong evidence | An ingredient dropped by about the same amount the output rose, and no other recipe could have used that ingredient. |
| Some evidence | An ingredient dropped, but the amounts disagree, or another recipe that uses the same ingredient could have taken the drop. |
| Ingredient not counted | No ingredient was counted between the two counts. Only the output's rise backs up the suggestion. |
Log or dismiss a suggestion
Open Prep history and tap Missed preps. You can also tap the "preps look unlogged" row on Home, or Review on the count completion screen.
Pick how far back to look (30 days, 60 days or 90 days), and group the list By day or By recipe.
Check Batches. When more than one day fits between the counts, pick the day in Made on.
Tap Log prep. Or tap Dismiss if the prep did not happen. A dismissed suggestion does not come back.
In the By recipe view, a recipe with two or more Strong evidence rows offers Log all strong evidence. This helps with a prep you make every day, such as a nightly thaw. Rinvy asks you to confirm first.
Why logging changes no count
Rinvy logs the prep on a day between the two counts it explains. The prep takes the ingredients out and adds the output, and the next count then matches the stock. Your counts stay exactly as you entered them.
The prep runs the recipe as it was on that day, even if you have edited the recipe since. In Prep history, the log shows "From missed-prep review", so you can tell it apart from a prep your team logged.
