Product report

The Product tab shows everything Rinvy knows about one product on one page. Use it when a single product looks wrong and you want to see its whole story: counts, deliveries, prices, waste, and recipes.

Choose the product in the Choose a product… picker. The address changes to /reports?type=product&productId=…. Copy that address to send someone straight to the same product. Archived products are in the picker too, because their history still counts.

The four numbers at the top

  • Current Stock is the stock from the latest count or stock change, in the product's counting unit. It turns red when stock is below the product's minimum stock level.
  • Current Value is the current stock times the product's average cost per case. This average covers every receipt the product ever had. If the product has no receipts, it uses the case cost on the product.
  • Burn Rate is how much you use per day. It says Insufficient data until there are two completed counts in the burn-rate period.
  • Days Remaining is current stock divided by burn rate. It turns red at 3 days or fewer. It shows N/A when the burn rate is zero or unknown.

How burn rate is calculated

Burn rate uses the first and last completed counts inside the burn-rate period:

usage = first count + received between the counts − last count
burn rate = usage ÷ days between the counts

If you set operating days for your kitchen, Rinvy counts only the days you are open. Otherwise it counts calendar days. Short, credit and return lines on a receipt lower "received", because they are stored as negative amounts.

The period is 14 days by default. To change it, select the gear next to Based on last 14 days and pick 7, 14, 30, 60 or 90 days. The period changes only Burn Rate and Days Remaining. Every other part of the page covers all history.

Charts

  • Price History (Cost per Case) plots the price on each delivery. Only normal receipt lines count. Shorts, credits and returns are not prices, so they are left out.
  • Spend History has one bar per receipt line. Credit and return lines are negative.
  • Stock Level History has one point per completed count. If the product has a minimum stock level, a dashed Min line shows it, and the caption reads Dashed line = MIN (PAR).

One price line per purchase option

If you buy the product more than one way, Price History draws one line for each purchase option that has prices. Each line has the name of its option, and the legend under the chart matches the colors. If one line has two deliveries on the same day, the later one is plotted. When only one option has prices, the chart is a single plain line with no legend. A dashed grey line named Earlier receipts shows deliveries from before you added purchase options. The chart caption reads One line per purchase option.

Separate lines let you compare a Sysco case with a Costco pack without mixing their prices into one line.

Lower cards

  • Lifetime Stats shows Total Spent, Cases Received, Avg Cost/Case and Total Wasted over all history. Credits and returns lower Total Spent.
  • Waste History lists every waste line for the product, with reason and date. It shows only when the product has waste.
  • Reconciliation History shows only for an auto-tracked product. Each row compares the expected stock from sales with the counted stock, and gives the difference in units and dollars.
  • Used in Recipes lists the recipes that use the product as an ingredient.

Common mistakes

Changing the case cost on the product to fix a number here

Reports price stock from receipts. The case cost on the product is only the fallback when there are no receipts. Fix the receipt that has the wrong price.

Burn rate says Insufficient data

Burn rate needs two completed counts inside the burn-rate period. Pick a longer period, or complete another count. See take your first inventory count.

Current stock is too high or too low

Look for a missing receipt, a duplicate receipt, or waste that nobody logged. Open Activity and filter to the product. See the troubleshooting checklist.
