Group report
If you run more than one kitchen, the Group tab in Reports puts them side by side — one row per kitchen, plus a group total — so you can compare locations and see the whole group's numbers without opening each kitchen one at a time.
What it rolls up
Pick a date range at the top, and each kitchen gets a row with four figures:
- Inventory value — the kitchen's current stock value right now, valued the same way the cost and pricing engine values it (weighted-average receipt cost, active products only). This one is a snapshot, not a period total — it ignores the date range.
- Spending — everything received over the range, from receipt line totals. Credits and returns net against it, so it matches the kitchen's own Spending report.
- Waste — the dollar value of waste logged over the range, using each line's cost at the time it was logged — the same number the kitchen's Waste report shows.
- Food cost % — the kitchen's theoretical food cost over the range (units sold × recipe cost, over revenue). It's blank for a kitchen with no sales data in the range, since there's nothing to compute it from.
The bottom All kitchens row totals inventory value, spending, and waste across the group. There's no group food-cost total — averaging percentages across kitchens of different sizes would mislead — so that cell stays blank.
Rows are sorted by inventory value, largest first.
Go to Reports. The Group tab sits alongside Food Cost, Waste, Sales, and the others whenever your kitchen is in a group.
Spending, waste, and food cost all cover the range you pick (up to a year). Inventory value is always current, regardless of the range.
Spot the outlier — the kitchen spending more, wasting more, or running a higher food cost — then switch to that kitchen and open its own reports for the detail behind the number.
Only the kitchens you're a member of
The rollup only ever includes kitchens in the group that you belong to — a location you're not a member of never appears, and its numbers never leak into the group total. And because a rollup exposes several kitchens at once, Rinvy re-checks that you have reports access on every one of them: if your role on any member kitchen can't view reports, the tab reports that rather than quietly dropping that kitchen from the total. Reports access is an Owner or Manager capability.
Currencies
Each kitchen's row renders in that kitchen's own currency, so a location set to Canadian dollars shows C$ while a US location shows $. If the kitchens in your group don't all use the same currency, the All kitchens total mixes currencies — Rinvy shows a note saying so, and renders the total in the current kitchen's currency. Keep a group on one currency if you want the totals to mean a single number.
Common mistakes
The Group tab isn't there
The tab only shows when the current kitchen belongs to a group. If you've created a group from a different kitchen, switch into a kitchen that's actually a member. See restaurant groups.
A kitchen shows a blank food cost %
Theoretical food cost needs sales data over the range. A kitchen with no POS sales uploaded (or none in the dates you picked) can't compute it, so the cell is blank — it isn't a zero.
The total looks off across currencies
If your kitchens use different currencies, the group total is adding different units together. The note above the table flags this — read the per-kitchen rows instead, or standardize the group on one currency.
