Counting report

The Counting tab shows how long your inventory counts take and where the time goes. Use it to find the storage category that slows a count down, or to see who counts fastest. The direct link is /reports?type=counting.

The report shows completed counts only. The period is Last 7 Days by default. If you count weekly, pick Last 30 Days to see a trend.

How Rinvy measures time

The timer for a category starts when a person picks the category on the count screen. It stops when that person saves the category. Each save is one timed event for one person and one category. Rinvy drops an event that is longer than 24 hours, because it is almost always a count screen that someone left open.

Time between categories is not counted. A session's time is the sum of its category times, not the time from start to finish.

What the report shows

• Avg Session is the average time of one completed count.
• Avg Per Product is the counting time per product.
• Recount Rate is the share of categories that someone saved more than once in the same count. It turns yellow above 20%.
• Sessions is the number of completed counts with at least one timed save in the period. The period uses the time of each save.
• Speed by Category shows the average time for each category, fastest first. Select By User to see Speed by User. That view shows each person's time per product. The button shows only when more than one person counted.
• Session Duration Trend shows how session time changed. It shows when the period has more than one count.
• Recount Frequency lists each category with the number of counts that included it and how many of those counted it again.

What a slow category means

A category that takes much longer than the others usually has one of these causes:

• It holds many products. Compare its time with Avg Per Product. If the time per product is normal, the category is only large. Split it into two storage categories.
• The count sheet order does not match the shelves. The counter walks back and forth. Put the products in shelf order on the count sheet.
• Products are hard to count. Case-plus-loose items and products counted by weight take longer. Check that the case size and counting unit match what is on the shelf.

A high recount rate means people saved a category and came back to it. This often means that stock arrived during the count, or that two people counted the same area. See counting together.

Export

On Standard and Pro, Export CSV saves one row per category. The columns are Category, Avg Duration (min), Avg Per Product (sec), Avg Products Counted, Total Count Events and Recount Events. Recount Events counts the extra saves, not the number of counts that had a recount.
